My full scale Jupiter 2 interior was my first attempt to scratch build anything from Lost in Space and I finished it in 2010. I had seen a flight console that Pat Burns had built and taken to Wonderfest and inspired by his, I thought maybe I could build one too in one room in my basement. I had also just bought three original control panels and wanted to work them into my set. One was a Burroughs carditron panel so it would go right next to the flight console, and another was a 205 control panel that would go in the middle of the flight console. However one of them was the SAGE power control panel from the lower deck so I had to build part of the lower deck as well in only a 14' by 12' room. I had to compromise by building just a semblance of both decks but ended up building small sections of the galley, lab, observatory, stateroom and flight deck. I wanted the view from the viewport to be of Priplanus after they crashed, and have the lights rigged so I can change from day to night with phosphorescent stars in the sky. I can even create cosmic lightning storms. If I want a space view I can hang a starry backdrop.
